This Christmas episode is about how all the Disney characters (characters from nearly every Disney captivating film) are stranded at the House of Mouse (a night club) due to a snow storm. So, Mickey being the fine host that he is, is trying to bring home that Christmas spirit and entertain his guest. The plight is that Donald Duck is not having a big time is like the scrooge at the Christmas party. So, Mickey tries to create Donald overjoyed and entertain his guest by showing classic Disney sharp shorts which include:

* Donald On Ice (1999) - Donald tries to learn to skate, while Huey, Dewey and Louie try to gain a snowman. But unfortunately, Donald’s inability to skate tends to demolish the triplets chance at building their snowman.

* Pluto’s Christmas Tree (1952) -Mickey cuts down a Christmas Tree and doesn’t know that the Chipmunks: Chip & Dale are living in the tree. Unfortunately, Chip & Dale tend to drive Pluto nuts and thus Pluto does what he can to come by the Chipmunks.

But each time the feature switches to the captivating shorts, you rep mixed results in terms of describe quality due to some of these involving shorts being over 30/50-years conventional. JUDGMENT CALL:

I watched “Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed In at the House of Mouse” with my toddler and he absolutely loved it and wanted to perceive it again. And as a holiday family feature, it is an attractive release that will be fun, due to the number of Disney characters seen throughout the feature.

With that being said, for those who gain the novel release of Walt Disney Spicy Shorts Collection or other Disney releases probably have the provocative shorts on previously released DVD’s. Those who hold the recent release from 2001, there is really is nothing original on this DVD with the exception of the current trailers. In fact, if you are a fan who mainly wants this release for its holiday-related engrossing shorts, then you may want to check out the honest released “Disney Animation Collection 7: Mickey’s Christmas Carol” which comes with “Mickey’s Christmas Carol”, “Pluto’s Christmas Tree” and two other Disney classics.

But with this release of “Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed In at the House of Mouse”, if you are a “House of Mouse” fan, you do win the premiere episode of “House of Mouse” and other short moving holiday special features. I do admit that I wished that the DVD release had more interactivity like other Disney releases with games or something extra.

Overall, “Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed In at the House of Mouse” is spellbinding for young and primitive as it does feature newer and older animation and if you don’t acquire these curious shorts on another previously released Disney collection, it’s worth checking out. But if you do have these shorts already, it’s kind of hard to recommend it as the majority of the bellow in this feature are those classic shorts.

So, for parents who are looking for a Disney holiday release, as mentioned earlier, my son loved it and wanted to study it again. So, yes it is an inspiring and fun Disney holiday release. I recommend Disney fans looking for a an involving holiday release to also pick a copy of “Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas” (2004), if you don’t hold it already.

When Disney brought Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and essentially the entire casts of racy features to Saturday morning and other daytime TV in 2001, it was done in broad style with an exertion to accomplish something that would please fans and young viewers, being hip as well as classic.

It’s a testimony to those keen with House of Mouse that such an impossibly enormous order was carried off so considerable of the time. That’s not to say that House of Mouse is uneven — the Brian Setzer theme and overall rock/swing music is a large draw to hold it modern yet classic. The references to Backstreet Boys and the like are no different than mammoth band crooner nods in ’40s cartoons.

Unlike grand animation for television, House of Mouse contains lots of purely visual sequences, short as they are, and short cartoons, which are also shorter than the theatrical type. These cartoons abound with gags — clearly a lot of work went into them by people who, by and enormous, generally cared about the early work and actually liked it. I can forgive occasional lapses in graphic quality because of the sheer beauty of the comic poses, especially for Donald. Clearly these poses are the foundation of animation that by necessity is produced in and out of the country. It’s inspired by the work of the Disney masters, and probably was researched by the series staff.

Mickey’s Magical Christmas is a special House of Mouse that extends to feature length, containing modern cartoons as well as Pluto’s Christmas Tree and Mickey’s Christmas Carol. As a bonus, the premiere episode of House of Mouse in included — a very droll sage in which Donald takes over the ‘toon club.

This DVD is also a bit of a tribute to the unhurried Wayne Allwine, who voiced Mickey since Christmas Carol and is heard throughout. Surely it was unintentional, since this is a DVD reissue, but Wayne also appears on camera, guiding guests through the Disney sound effects department, where he worked with Jimmy Macdonald and from whom he took on the mantle of Mickey’s shriek. This DVD is worth having objective for his short bonus feature, “The Sounds of Christmas.”

I determined would like to look more House of Mouse on DVD and so would my kids…

you dont miss what you have, untill its gone, i didnt realize how considerable our world has changed untill i watched this series, i am 58 years extinct so i have lived through a lot of the landmark decisions and the changes, when they took prayer out of schools the kids started killing each other first with fists then with cruel words then with guns.

I approached this movie with some trepidation, mainly owing to the presence of Al Pacino as Shylock. The only Shakespeare I had seen him attempt was his lead in Richard III. I was less than impressed by his acting in that one. I’m also always a exiguous queasy about seeing hide attempts at encapsulating a three hour Shakespeare play in a two hour movie.

While I wasn’t exactly gay at the outcome of this attempt, there is a lot to recommend, thanks to some obvious handed British directing and acting. And Pacino underplays a role for a change (for the most share) and he handled his line readings with aplomb.

The predicament with the script (and it is, along with MEASURE FOR MEASURE and THE WINTERS Yarn, one of Shakespeare’s “plight” plays to originate with, in that it is morally ambiguous) is the clear anti-semitism surrounding the moneylender Shylock. The film actually opens with a kind of disclaimer reminding the audience that Renaissance attitudes towards Jews were not exactly politically legal. Shakespeare’s script certainly bears this out, which is one reason it detached attracts negative criticism on many college campuses.

The director (Michael Radford, who also wrote the adaptation) and cast handle this graceful yelp rather adroitly. Pacino manages to elicit more sympathy than derision for Shylock. The only quibble I have with interpretation occurs in the trial scene, in which Shylock’s insistence on Antonio’s (Jeremy Irons) repayment of his debt (the noted pound of flesh) is rendered grand more menacingly and realistically than I’ve ever seen it portrayed. It really does appear to be imminently possible that Shylock is going to happily flay Antonio alive before Portia or any other contravening authority, such as the the the Duke (acting as contemplate) can cessation him. This is generally downplayed in stage productions, but on mask it comes across as all too exact. It works as far as dramatic tension is concerned, but approaches “over the top” as far as blooming distancing goes(which is another of the underlying problems of transferring a text from stage to conceal) .

As far as characterizations are concerned, I was disappointed in only one director’s choice. He cleave the servant, Launcelot Gobbo’s noted “Devil or Angel” monologue, which is one of the few truly amusing bits in the play. The scene with the younger and elder Gobbo almost made up for it, however, as Ron Cook serves up a marvellous silly turn as Faded Gobbo.

The acting is generally good, in fact. Irons is solid, if not entirely convincing as Antonio. Joseph Fiennes does yeoman work as Anonio’s bosom buddy, Bassanio. Lynn Collins as Portia is a determined revelation. Her transformation to young male lawyer is boring on. She plays a beefy range of emotions with yell ease. Hers is the one truly award trustworthy performance in the movie. Pacino does an outstanding job of remaining in character. The usual Pacino vocal and physical tics are nowhere in evidence. He obviously studied hard for the role and most of his choices are profitable ones. The cinematography, consisting mainly of shots of Venice in all its resplendance, is unbelievable.

Radford & Company certainly execute no disservice to the bard in this production, which is saying a lot, actually. I’d include it among some of the better novel attempts at bringing Shakespeare to the conceal, along with Fishburn’s OTHELLO and Branaugh’s Considerable ADO ABOUT NOTHING. It’s worth at the very least a rental when it comes out on DVD, but if you win a chance to behold it in a theater first, I recommend you avail yourself of the chance, if only to fully relish the cinematography.

After the high school English Lit experience, I’ve never been a Shakespeare fan, so I’ve rarely seen any of those of his works that’ve been build on film. Mired in the bliss of almost total ignorance, I’ll yet foolishly suggest that this Astronomical Camouflage THE MERCHANT OF VENICE is perhaps the most sumptuous cinematic adaptation of any of the Bard’s plays to date.

If you’re completely without Cultcha and you don’t know the region, it’s gradual 16th century Venice and the import-export merchant Antonio (Jeremy Irons) borrows 3,000 gold ducats from the Jewish moneylender Shylock (Al Pacino) . The money goes to Antonio’s chum Bassanio (Joseph Fiennes), who’ll employ it to brand and obtain the hand of the Babe of his dreams, the orphaned heiress Portia (Lynn Collins) . But, Antonio suffers ruinous business setbacks and can’t repay. So Shylock, remembering the public contempt shown to him by Antonio in the past and recently humiliated by the desertion of his only daughter to a Christian lover, insists that Antonio pay the penalty stipulated in the terms of the loan agreement, i.e. a pound of his fill flesh, literally. And Shylock is prepared to go to the Duke’s court to argue the legality of his case under existing Venetian statutes. Things survey bleak and potentially painful for Antonio.

Filmed in Luxembourg and the decaying glory of Venice, THE MERCHANT OF VENICE is an extraordinarily lavish feast for the eyes. At times, as I found myself losing the thread of Shakespeare’s flowery dialog, I found mammoth satisfaction in the production’s aesthetic costuming and sets.

Pacino, who, in the past decade, has played cops, the Devil, a pro football coach, and a blind lecher, steals the demonstrate with an Oscar-worthy performance. He’s perfect as the world-weary, embittered, vengeful loan shark literally and figuratively spat upon by the city’s Christian majority. Indeed, the film’s creators have done a salubrious job depicting a Jewish usurer’s anachronistic social status in that time and state, i.e. both needed and despised at the same time. And Collins is a revelation as the clever and comely Portia, the one character in the section with any brains compared to the hormone-driven and doltish males around her.

Besides the determined lessons of the account, which are don’t co-sign a loan with your best friend, don’t play loose with your wedding ring, and always go for the cheaply wrapped gift box, I was left pondering the perceived anti-Semitism of the space. Indeed, had the play not been written by Shakespeare, and thus considered a “classic”, but rather something churned out by a Tinseltown hack and achieve on celluloid, the Political Correctness Police, regardless of the historical facts, would be howling about stereotyping to a degree that would perhaps dwarf the outcry over Mel Gibson’s PASSION. The gay prospect of that alone makes this a film worth seeing.

I am surprised by all the complaints I glance from other reviewers. We bought this in a two-pack with the Miss Spider DVD, because our 4-year-old had enjoyed the Miss Spider TV shows. After watching both of these “movies,” he did not want to glance Miss Spider — but he requested the Stellaluna DVD over and over.

We then got the book from the library, and renewed it for a while because it became a current. We also deduced that he might have gotten a gawk at the book at preschool before we ever heard of it. In any case, our son was perfectly satisfied with both the book and the DVD versions, and did not have problems with the fact that there were differences between them.

The overall account is the same, but the telling is different — as it HAS to be, to acquire a video more than 10 minutes long. That point was proven by the PBS prove “Reading Rainbow” which featured the book one day. A professional narrator read the book out loud, and they former its illustrations for the visuals. Well, in this DVD version, they’ve added a rather comical “super-hero” jumping spider character, who provides a couple of pivotal dwelling points. They also added a couple of birds who attempt a makeover on Stellaluna, which fails but teaches everybody a lesson about getting in touch with the person you are inside. That is, of course, the thought of the book but this simply accentuates it with some singing and some fun. These scenes seem to move greatly from the tone of the unique book — but they do NOT fade from its message. Our child enjoys them, but more importantly, I feel they back the Stellaluna character invent a clearer sense of her maintain value.

The rest of the DVD completes the storyline with an ending that one would demand from a “movie” even if it’s not exactly the same as the book. It’s a ecstatic ending, it leaves the birds and the bats with greater mutual opinion and respect, and — again — emphasizes the importance of looking beneath the surface to secure to know somebody.

And it is a colossal growing experience, a learning experience, when a child sees the same chronicle interpreted more than one procedure.

I deem it’s a tall mistake for parents to bag hung up on the impossible goal of trying to dictate the “true” version of every yarn for their kids. Let them study different ones, and settle FOR THEMSELVES which ones appeal to them more. Our child continued to examine the book long after seeing two different TV versions, including this one. They can coexist objective resplendent, so give your kids some credit and some leeway, and don’t reflect things for diverging from your expectations. Being that judgmental of superficial issues runs contrary to the lesson of the book, after all!

It tells the same epic as the book, fair in a different style, that’s all. On its contain, or in conjunction with the book, it’s a pleasing DVD, and a perfectly acceptable addition to your home video library. We found it to be a suited surprise, and a excellent deal.

My 4 year musty was introduced to Stellaluna the book through her preschool class. They ended the series on Stellaluna by showing the video. My daughter loved it so noteworthy that she asked to borrow it from the classroom. I am so happy to learn that the video is now available to lift! The video stresses that differences are ok and the music is very upbeat and fun! I higly reccomend this movie from preschool-early elementary age. My 6 year customary going into 1st grade enjoys the movie as well. A satisfactory, wholesome choice that you will like as distinguished as your child!

This proper movie about two detectives (6′4 (76) Wayne and 6′7 Arness) who search for Communism in the Honolulu spot. The residence is realistic in the sense that the movie is about something that was happening in 1952. Many people don’t like this, even though I don’t know why. It has everything: comedy, action, scenery, adventure, remorse, etc. It is a switch for Wayne (who would effect Hondo in ‘53 and The Searchers in ‘56.), but it shows how tremendous an actor John Wayne is. This is a must-see movie for any fan of Wayne, stout or minute.

In order to glean colossal rewards in life you have to grasp expansive risks. If there is one thing that the Star Lumber universe hasn’t done in 20-25 years its prefer risks. The franchise has suffered greatly for it, continuing to follow a formulaic near that has made the franchise faded, predictable, and for quite a while… Stupid. Not sick, not on life back, but D-E-A-D.

The 11th feature presentation is quite simply the first Expansive Star Creep movie ever made. While others in the series have been exquisite, there was no definitive movie that stood out, nothing that could be pointed to as something original, something special, something that takes RISKS.

What you score here is the biggest risk that has ever been taken in the Star Drag universe in its 40+ years of existence.

I will not end this risk but if you are a fan of the movies at all you will know it when you glimpse it. Being a long time fan of Star Stride (I am a Next Generation first and foremost) and having seen the trailer numerous times I figured out what was going to happen about 20 minutes before it did but that didn’t halt the shock when I witnessed this awesome writing decision played out on the expansive hide. The strongest of Star Stir lovers (especially TOS people) will no doubt have a lot of outrage at this risk but it was the legal depart to effect. The Star Meander franchise needed to be shaken up, it needed something current and it needed a movie to shock and panic the audience.

Man did it ever drawl.

This movie is an absolute JOY to experience. Spock was always my common TOS personality as he probably was for most fans, but I never felt the connection to this cast that I did to Picard, Data, Worf and the Next Gen cast so I really didn’t care what changes they made (and there is another major change that involves 2 characters that you never have experienced before in TOS history) if they were for the better. In all cases these were for the better and executed with near-perfection by JJ Abrams (who might later be revered on the same level as Gene Rodenberry if this re-visioning [this is grand more than a simple reboot] succeeds like I consider it will) .

Since I don’t like getting too deep into spoilers with reviews instead of focusing on the sage (try your best to conclude ignorant as possible of the narrative so its fresher when you peruse the film) I will instead focus on the characters we know so well (and some we don’t) .

True To The Character We Know

Spock (played by Zachary Quinto) - Even though Kirk (ahhem William Shatner) was advertised as the lead of TOS, the loyal centerpiece was Spock. The work here by Quinto is beyond exceptional and complements the incredible work done by Leonard Nimoy the past 40 years. Quinto plays the character as well as you could imagine and the actual special thing in this movie is that finally (FINALLY) the half human side of Spock is heavily examined. It is a major allotment of the movie and no doubt will continue to be focused on in future films. Spock is no more or less considerable to the crew and fable as he always has been. Other actors could do lesser work (they didn’t) but the movie franchise will only succeed as well as Quinto acts. The character is in the best of hands.

Bones (played by Karl Urban) - The gem of the entire movie without inquire. Karl Urban takes the difficult role of playing not only Bones but Bones played by DeForest Kelley and is he ever fabulous. It’s a complete joy to gaze his character on the veil. Urban doesn’t need to do anything different in future films. You can swear how hard he worked to preserve the Bones character as he has always been and he hits a home urge out of the park. Improbable improbable wonderful

Scotty (played by Simon Pegg) - We don’t meet Scotty until far into the movie but Pegg does a tall job doing James Doohan. Since Scotty was always kind of the “middle” character on the expose where he wasn’t wasted but wasn’t the tops (Spock, Kirk, Bones) all Pegg had to do was do a superb Scotty and hopefully the script-writers would give him more to do. This is the case here.

Revisions And Improvements Made

Kirk (played by Chris Pine) - No longer do we come by the ultra womanizing, overacting of Kirk/William Shatner but we rep instead a focus on the risk-taking side of Kirk and this is the Kirk that I could truly learn to admire. Over and over again we spy why Kirk in Star Slouch canon is revered so powerful and his recall no prisoners arrive is do on the front burner all throughout this film. Pine is confident and does a astounding job. I don’t care how revered Shatner is, the writers got it fair with this re-visioning of Kirk and it’s thumbs up all the scheme.

Sulu (played by John Cho) - Not considerable to say here. Cho was splendid but nothing unbelievable in his performance. Sulu fights a miniature bit but hopefully more focus can be made on him in the future, no problems here but nothing jumps out.

Uhura (played by Zoe Saldana) - As a communications officer her role is Remarkable better in this re-visioning. She is given more shining input by the script-writers but the one major canon change of Uhura (which I can’t go into detail in this review) I am mild trying to resolve how I feel about. Her mod is the 2nd biggest risk/mod taken in the movie.

Complete Rewrite

Chekov (played by Anton Yeltin) - Except for being Russian and making fun of his thick accent this is a completely recent character and man was this a serious improvement. Instead of the bumbling doofus that really doesn’t do anything now Chekov is a ultra-young uber-intelligent officer that plays pivotal parts in the movie. Yes this was a serious canon change but I can’t imagine how any fan wouldn’t approve because now you have a trusty character you can be emotionally attached to.

New Characters

Nero (played by Eric Bana) - Bana instantly becomes one of the main villains in Star Slouch lore and in my notion because of events in the movie he now becomes THE single villain in Star Race history. I wish Nero could have been on the cover more but with only 2 hours and so many people to win on the conceal I contemplate the good balance was struck.

Old Friends

XXX - You will know who this is when you peek them. I have no complaints other than one voice-over portion where the narration seems a bit laughable and uninspired but I also contemplate this is because of the circumstance how they are speaking. The win that is featured in the movie is serviceable but doesn’t inspire. I was disappointed with the ruin result. It’s alright but it could have been so considerable more.

IMO ‘Star Trek’ achieves what only 1 Star Rush movie (IV - The Voyage Home) came stop to doing and that is being a successful film to the general public, not impartial Star Ride fans in general. This is the quickest 2 hours you will exercise this summer and an absolute joy. I can eye several movies being made with this cast and I hope several are made. The events of this film earn for a realistic advance to the new cast working anew in these unique revisions. For the ones that aren’t would you rather have changes and recent Star Trot movies or the same weak same outmoded that had ruined the franchise for so long (kudos to Rick Berman as the official murderer of ST)??? If you are fair a person that loves movies you (yes YOU) can even indulge in Star Hasten as this movie has been produced not unbiased for the Trekkie but the every day Joe and Jane.

I spent two hours on a wonderfully sunny Saturday afternoon to contemplate Star Straggle and it was worth every minute/penny. Color me impressed. If you’re familiar with the series then you’ll probably stare several characters you know, honest in a younger form:

If you haven’t seen the series though then scare not because that’s definitely not a pre-requisite. Other than saying that this movie is a pre-quel to the approved extinct school iteration of the series, there’s not great I can say that without spoiling the really fun residence. Having only seen a few episodes of the novel series though, I walked out not only ravishing impressed and glad but I actually wanted to peer up broken-down episodes (which are available legally online at Hulu and TV.com and others) because it got me really keen in the show’s storyline. From talking to my friend who was a fan of the series, I’m not distinct how well the position fits in with the series that succeeds it, but I have a theory that I can’t part without spoiling the movie. Anyway, there were several nods to the series to give fans that giddy nerdgasm that you can only rep from being in the know on the series.

Every aspect of this movie was really appetizing. They all came together to obtain a genuinely fun movie experience. I mediate almost every actor fit their role very well - especially newcomer Chris Pine as James T Kirk and Zachary Quinto (Sylar) as Spock. By the plan, don’t peep at the IMDB cast list because it has a few spoilers. The position had a few minor issues, but I didn’t acquire any of them to be dealbreakers. The script was strong, but had a few minor issues (mainly a couple of scenes I didn’t believe needed to be in there) that I didn’t contemplate were very noticeable. Even though it was more than 2 hours long it really didn’t feel that long and there was an enormous amount of welcome funny relief sprinkled throughout the film. Oh, and the visuals were tasteful and well done. You have to request a lot of CG in a movie like this, and that’s probably the only actual downside to the movie. If you’re one of those purists who hates seeing CG, then you’ll definitely buy sigh with this.

I highly recommend running to your nearest theater to explore this one. I’m actually probably going to pre-order it on Blu-ray, in fact, so that I can perceive it again. It’s one of those movies where I can’t buy all the scenes because there were so many gargantuan scenes and they were quite dense. I’d say it’s a solid A movie and appropriate for the whole family. There was almost no nudity and no poor language, although the set may be too complex for some kids.

It’s been almost four years since I first saw Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and wrote my review for Amazon.com. On to my modern review as it was abet in 2005:

Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Marlene, Barret, Vincent. The names could go on. This series reigns in many Final Fantasy fans’ minds as being the best. Though in modern years a lot of people roll their eyes and say its over-rated (and it might be), for me, and for a lot of fans, Final Fantasy was a turning point in the genre not only in terms of graphics and presentation but also in record. I have been playing video games and RPGs since the very first NES. Final Fantasy VII was the first game that made me terminate and go, wait when did a video game become something more than honest pushing buttons?

Now we have the official sequel, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Advent Children is basically a admire designate written for the fans of VII. Those who did not invest 40, 50, 60+ hours into the game will probably have no interest in it. But those who were troubled when (should I even say spoiler? ) Sephiroth murders Aeris, who have a deep connection to the characters, and over the 40-60+ hours grew so attached to them that to this day they peaceful method fan art or examine for that elusive intention to find Aeris benefit in game(it doesn’t exist, by the intention), this movie will mean something.

AC is a magnificent CG movie taking set two years after the events of FFVII. While the ending of VII was climactic and exhilarating, providing a resolution of sorts to the people of Midgar, it did not provide a resolution, tickled or not, for Cloud. In fact, it left him empty and pain as we derive in the beginning of Advent Children. What AC does is achieve Cloud’s epic. Another reviewer here made a comment that he liked FFVII’s ending. I do too, don’t secure me injurious. But the one thing it didn’t do was extinguish Cloud’s legend. For the length of the game, you have a deeply personal account surrounded by the world legend and while the world got its ending, the people keen did no, unfortunate or not. As I said, AC ends Cloud’s fable with a bang. And it is damn well worth the wait.

I don’t consider it would be true of me to talk about what happens in AC. Portion of the fun and surprise is to behold how well it fits together, brings memories of the video game and works to do an emotional core. I will sustain the review as spoiler free as possible because I know I’m tired of reading reviews where people stick in something that can raze the whole movie.

For those who didn’t play or look FFVII, this movie will not have remarkable resonance since it’s basically for the fans, both die-hard and casual. Those who loved FFVII will more than likely savor this movie. AC is basically an action movie and the action is spectacular although the dumb motion was old-fashioned (while effectively) a puny noteworthy. The sword play, the battles and the action is all directed with style oozing everywhere. The characters are all involving exceedingly well and the animators did a gigantic job in making PS1 characters into spectacular CG. The musical regain varies for me from being wonderful to objective okay. By far, the best moments are ones I can’t talk about aurally for terror of spoiling surprises. Needless to say, the music is at its greatest when it brings in hints of FFVII, the video game.

There are a lot of connections to both VII and the Final Fantasy series as a whole. From moogle dolls to The Turks, the game oozes both FFVII and FF; although I was disappointed in not seeing any chocobos, there are a few moments that made up for it. One in particular revolves around the games Extinguish Battle Theme. Hilarious, laugh out loud scene. There are some minor annoyances. A couple of the scenes felt episodic and not connected. Some scenes were directed very well and lead into each other or intercut between each other. But there are a couple scenes that stand out because they didn’t feel attached to what was going on. In fact, it felt as if they were nick scenes from a video game. Did this detract from the movie? Not in the least, but its there nonetheless.

What surprised me the most with this movie is that it wasn’t done to milk the saga. I mean, of course its there to do money, and FFVII is a tremendous blueprint to do it because of fans’ treasure for it. Anything in the business world is made around making money. But what I mean exactly is best represented in FFX-2. I am one who did not salvage FFX-2 at all inviting. In fact it is the only FF game I gave up on. It felt like it was a scheme of milking FFX for a slight more money while the wait for FFXII kept getting longer and longer. However, AC is so intrinsically related to VII that it has a heart and emotion that I haven’t seen in many movies released this year. I felt chills from the very opening moments as the narrator explained some of the events from VII and we recognize a flashback of Sephiroth standing in front of flames. And that was unbiased the open of the thrills; there are scenes both emotional and thrilling to be found throughout the 1 hour 40 minutes of the film. And what happy me above all else was that Cloud’s sage finally received a perfect resolution.

I assume most fans have been hoping and wishing that Aeris would return and I reflect the creators give a gargantuan respond to this in this movie. I won’t spoil the ending, I won’t impart you who does and doesn’t return. But I will utter you the resolution is damn well awesome and probably the most satisfying ending to what is by far many people’s approved (if clichéd) choice for the Final Fantasy series. I do need to earn a plea and I apologize for it, but if you downloaded this movie (like a clear reviewer did *cough*) please help it when it comes out here in the States and bewitch it. We need to present assist to Square-Enix that this is the kind of sequel we want to peer. They spent a long time and a lot of money making a movie that is issue to DVD here in the states. We need to return the favor and relieve it.

About the Film:

I followed Advent Children closely from the first time it was announced some time in 2004. I am a die-hard Final Fantasy fan, and although I would have preferred the sequel to one of the greatest games of all time (Final Fantasy VII) to be, well, a game, I was pleased to behold the yarn continued in a medium with slightly more widespread appeal. Although the writers made an distress to allow this movie to stand on its have, people who have played the game (and remember the state and characters) will certainly net considerably more out of it.

About This Release:

In production since about 2006, this version of the film, subtitled “Complete” is the Japanese equivalent of a director’s slice. In addition to a unusual high-definition transfer of the film several scenes have been extended or reworked and unique scenes have been added to further round out the memoir and provide more visual flash. It may not seem like powerful while watching it, but in total the film has been extended by fully a third taking it from 90 minutes to 2 hours running time.

Visuals:

Although noble, I have to say I was expecting more from the High-Definition release of this movie. My first misgiving is with the inconsistent visual quality. The newly added scenes are generally presented with the kind of piquant visual detail that HD enthsiasts have arrive to question. The older scenes, while clearly providing more detail than the DVD release, are missing the clarity that honest HD material is obedient of, often appearing fuzzy or out of focus. It is not generally noticeable, but it does become an positive annoyance in a couple of scenes. Arguably this could have been done on purpose, adding a “fuzzy” filter for ambiance, but I doubt they would have intentionally added upscaling artifacts which are expose in this film. The most valuable instance I can rob is during Tifa’s scenes, particularly in the church; the aliasing on her hair is more reminiscent of a DVD being upscaled to 1080p than of a novel render done in 1080p.

Little touches have been added to further “sell” the quasi-realism that this film is striving to carry out. During battles characters’ faces score dirty, during one scene flecks of dust in the air created diminutive shimmers.

Story:

While the same epic is being told, the added/extended scenes and to an extent the visual enhancements do add a different slant on the station of Advent Children. While the main points of the anecdote remain unchanged, the area is made clearer and definite elements which seemed random or unimportant pick on recent meaning.

For example, during a scene a girl carrying a stuffed moogle comes up to Denzel and holds out her hand for him to follow. In the novel DVD release, this is really all we watch of her, but in the “Complete” release we find to peer an earlier scene that reveals she is really trying to invent an apology to Denzel for being uncouth before.

Denzel plays a great more prominent role in this version. It was never distinct to me what it was that Cloud was so busy doing before I saw this release, but in this version it is revealed that he was out looking for a cure to the Geostigma so he could benefit Denzel.

In the DVD release, the Geostigma seemed like petite more than a charcoal colored rash that slowly killed people. In this version it is distinguished more scandalous, causing sores that ooze sticky dusky sludge and induces violent convulsions and vomiting of the same dusky sludge.

I’ll leave the spoilers at that, but I’ve only revealed a couple of the dozen or so status augmentations that this version of the film brings to the table. Most of them gave me that “Ooooh that’s what they meant. I regain it now.” feeling. Maybe I’m fair dreary, but a lot of these things weren’t positive to me in the film’s modern presentation.

Sound:

This film really benefits from the expanded HD audio - more so if you have the equipment to properly decode the newer HD audio formats, but even when down sampled to Dolby Digital, the sound is richer and has considerable fewer compression artifacts. Some of the music has been remixed slightly and it seems like I heard one or two additional compositions. Many of the songs were written to lock in with sure scenes, and when the scenes were extended, so was the music. I was very impressed with how seamless it all seemed.

Voice acting is one of those things, like pizza toppings, that nobody seems to be able to agree on. I have never been terribly picky about articulate acting, but since everyone is different I’ll attempt to provide some frame of reference for my view. My plan of awful direct acting is the Devil May Scream anime, and my view of splendid boom acting is Cowboy Bebop. I consider the vow acting is safe in Advent Children. I was particularly cheerful to hear the voices chosen for the ancillary characters like Barret, Cait Sith, Red XIII, Yufie, Vincent and Cid. But the actors chosen for main characters Cloud, and Tifa were very agreeable matches for what I imagined the characters from the game would sound.

Extras:

This review is of the Japanese release, and frankly I did not really care enough about the extras to check them out. I watched them once when the DVD release came out and can’t be bothered to do it again. This does approach with an additional lively “episode” about Denzel. For those of you who want to know absolutely everything there is to know about how a movie was made, you will not be disappointed with the depth.

For me the trusty attraction in the extras was the inclusion of the Final Fantasy XIII playable demo. Since the PS3 is state free, the Japanese release is very import reliable. (If you don’t mind that it is all in Japanese) The U.S. release mentions a Final Fantasy XIII “preview”. I don’t know if that means that it will be a demo, or an extended trailer. It would be a shame if it was the latter.

Final Thoughts:

I wish all “director’s cleave” releases could enhance the recent presentation as well as Advent Children Complete does. The extra footage catapulted this already substantial movie firmly into the category of awesome. If you didn’t luxuriate in the first release because you unbiased didn’t “glean it” then this release may be fair what you need to build the pieces together as many of the more vague areas of the site are clarified. If you loved the first one, then you’ll esteem this one even more. About the only thing it is missing is the ability to stare the novel release version of the film. Personally that isn’t an pronounce for me but it would have been a nice addition.

Although this review is for the Japanese release, I doubt powerful will change in the final U.S. version. My reasoning is that the the DVD release was nearly identical for the two territories, and there are only two months between Blu-ray releases.

“A Charlie Brown Christmas” ends with newfound meaning for Christmas, hopefully not soon forgotten by either the Peanuts Gang, or, more importantly … us.

I realize that I am writing this several weeks after Christmas, and this is a Christmas DVD, but this is the first year that I missed watching “A Charlie Brown Christmas” on television, so I rented the DVD. Ever since I was a dinky boy, this has been my well-liked Christmas special, and one that I always looked forward to watching every year. I grew up reading the Peanuts laughable strips and I grew up watching the Peanuts Christmas special.

Charlie Brown is unhappy. He can’t seem to net himself into the Christmas spirit. He doesn’t like the commercialism of Christmas and scarcely knows the moral meaning of Christmas. Lucy selects Charlie Brown to be the director of their Christmas play and he decides to score a Christmas tree for the production. The other kids yelp him to regain a “nice smart aluminum tree, maybe a pink one”, but Charlie Brown and Linus bring serve a gloomy looking loyal tree. Charlie Brown is almost laughed out of the auditorium, but when he asks if anyone knows what Christmas is all about, Linus has the acknowledge. Linus recites a passage from the Bible telling of the birth of Jesus. Charlie Brown is cheered and leaves with the tree. He tries to decorate the microscopic tree, but even that is ruined. Linus and the gang follow leisurely, fix up the tree, and at the ruin, they exhibit the suitable spirit of Christmas.

It is a sweet exiguous Christmas special, filled with memorable moments that will always perform me smile. The one thing that amazes me is that Charles Schulz was able to include Linus’s speech come the destroy about the birth of Jesus. I don’t imagine that would have been able to be included today, but I judge the special is all the stronger for it. I have a hard time imagining that any novel Christmas display will ever acquire as special a position in my heart as “A Charlie Brown Christmas”.

This DVD also includes “It’s Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown” (1992) . This Christmas feature is lacking the overall charm and emotion of the older special, but it has a lot more humor. It is also different from the first Christmas special in that this one is more a series of vignettes (perhaps based on Schulz’s droll strips) than a complete anecdote. There are sequences with Charlie Brown trying to sell Christmas wreaths before Thanksgiving, and of Sally rehearsing for a Christmas play. Sally’s sole line is “Hark!”, though I assume she missed the rest of her lines where the herald angels negate. It is a cute cartoon, but ultimately it does not quite live up to “A Charlie Brown Christmas”, but it my mind, nothing can live up to that one.

This movie has been a staple with our family since first released on video, in fact we have broken-down 3 tapes out of the modern and I have unbiased purchased the dvd, which is outstanding!! The colour and quality are advantageous and the fable and negate overs are a streak succor to glory days of English gentility. My children tranquil peruse this continually and whilst it may not appeal to the “action comix” kid (or adult) it is a masterpiece and is simply redolent with atmosphere. Never before has the public been allowed to engage and belief in their homes every single episode of this fabulous series. The only things in the past that were release on tape were the feature length episode, and about 3 or 4 tapes with 3 episodes each (with 1 or 2 episodes changed out when they were reproduced a couple of times) . It’s grisly that it took this long to let the public in all this fun (Who’s been hoarding and hiding all these recordings anyway? ) . Thanks finally to A&E for being the first company to score the rights (after several others had the rights over the years) to devote all the time and peril they are going to do to bag all the episodes out to the public. YEAH for A&E! So many of us have been longing for such a lengthy amount of time to finally possess every episode. I especially be pleased this expose unbiased tad bit more than others, as this expose helped bring me out of a sunless depressing time I went through early one year, when I happened to stumble upon this demonstrate again on a PBS channel, and vulgar and stare by some freak of nature they were airing some of the episodes in the early to mid 90’s.

On to a side comment, I don’t know how someone can give this exhibit a awful rating, and then also go on a rant about it having abominable language. What reveal were you watching anyway? Unless you’re a neat uptight paranoid parent who gets offended by everyone else in world, this prove is certainly for everyone. So don’t let any kind of review like that deter you from having any kind of fun. Hurry, don’t jog, and score your copies of every single one of these episodes, and inaugurate having a spacious fun time.
